I feel like compression should be on there. I'd be lost without my EBS Multicomp.

Another missing effect type is a GATE! The least sexy and still my favorite pedal is my ISP Decimator G String. Although it's my love of chaotic fuzz that makes me appreciate the Decimator so much - so in lieu of a gate vote, I voted fuzz :)

I agree compression is missing from the list, that's my only truly always-on pedal. Next is mild overdrive which I use for maybe half of our songs. Other than that it varies from song to song, I use many of the effects on the list once or twice, but phaser is maybe my third most used effect.

That's for blues, blues-rock, classic rock.

I still don't know what you would consider the IE Polytope to be, but I use it as a replacement to my Analog Man Stereo Chorus and Fulltone Supa-Trem pedals...
  11. Interestingly, the top spot is shared by "overdrive" and "other". Aside from compressor, which others do you have in mind? I like synth a lot (EHX Bass Micro Synth)

Fuzz here....followed very closely by phaser.

I play in (amongst several nascent projects right now) a two piece drum and bass. I got a 5 string which I string E-C just for this. I love the Octave because it lets me play higher, more melodically while still maintaining a decent low end. Other than this though, I would say distortion. Not for everybody, I know, but probably the pedal I use the most.

I agree there should be a compressor and I would even say a booster should be on the list as well.
  15. Dang, yes I use compression all the time. I should have voted other. Instead I voted chorus as that's the second effect I use the most.

I just picked up the Brimstone XD1 which is quite awesome. Have a Darkglass Duality on the way so these are my newer fav toys. But my fav all time effect is most def delay. LOVE delay. Very fun to play and write with.
