Not sure if this is "normal" or not but I have managed to collect a double handful of 70's Fender necks over the past few years and I have found that I actually have "preferred" builder.
I own three necks (two RW & one maple) with the stamp "X ARMENTA" and they are all wonderful. The butt ends are not too thin so I do not wind up with large neck-pocket gaps and they are all "just right" in their shape...not too fat, chunky or too thin either. Even the work on the nut is first class and shows nice attention to detail.
I have many necks with other stamps in them but none with the consistency of these three.
Anyone else on TB bother (or care) to find one specific builder that they prefer?

I can't help you with basses but Inspector 9 puts out a mighty fine pair of Fruit of the Loom boxer briefs.

I can't add to your list, but knowing to look out for a certain builder would be good information for people looking to build. Hopefully, others with experience will chime in!
