I saw "Sledge Hammer!" and "The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr." mentioned in a couple of OT threads, and those are two of my favorite short-lived TV shows. Among the others are:

"Tenspeed and Brown Shoe," starring Ben Vereen and Jeff Goldblum

"It's Your Move," starring a young Jason Bateman

"Square Pegs," starring Sarah Jessica Parker

"Men Behaving Badly," starring Justine Bateman, Ron Eldard and Rob Schneider (for Season 1, anyway; Bateman and Eldard left the show after the first season and it went straight into the toilet)

    "Millenium," starring Lance Henriksen

What are your favorite short-lived TV series?

Prison break. I refuse to acknowledge the existence of seasons 2 & 3. so it only lasted one amazing season.
  6. Five posts in and no one has mentioned Firefly?

+1 on the Adventures of Brisco County Jr.

Police Squad! was good... at least we got three movies to continue it.

wow... tons of British series. The Thin Blue Line, IT Crowd...

HUGE +1. I'd also like to add Moral Orel to the list.

Sports Night. Only two seasons. Aaron Sorkin scripts at their rapid-fire best, and before he got all preachy on West Wing (he let Sports Night die to work on that one :spit:).

  17. Moral Orel, great show. Depressing ending.

    I'll add the Chappelle Show.

*EDIT* Darn, Jim beat me to it.
  18. John from Cincinnati. They killed it just as it was starting to take off.

Studio 50 On The Sunset Strip -- Aaron Sorkin's post-West Wing series, with Bradley Whitford and Matthew Perry. They got what, one full season out of that? When that show went off the air I officially stopped watching regularly scheduled television.
