So, I am toying with the idea of selling this bass that I spent a lot of time putting together... Some of you know that I had some problems with the pickup, but its all good now and was wired by Curtis Novak himself. I know this might be a shallow market... But here we go.

First thing is that this bass is flat out sick. The neck is amazing and the pickup is incredible. The tone is refined and warm, but also thick and punchy. Unfortunately, tonally it just doesn't work with anything I do. I have tried to love P basses, but I just can't. They just do not work for my sound and the way I play (dodging TB lightning bolt now). It's like, I love it but I'm not in love with it...

    Here are the specs:

I basically got everything from TBer EskimoSpy and it was 2-tone burst with this horrible plastic gold pickguard.

    Alder body, I think Allparts.
Warmoth Slim P bass profile neck w/ th 21st fret shaved off
    Schaller Roller Bridge
Brand new hipshot vintage (long stem) tuners with drop d tuner
    Curtis Novak Darkstar
Custom Paint by TB's own StreetScenes
Custom Sparkle Pickguard by Mike Quick
Custom "Thunder" P bass logo by TBer Lavmonga (just applied over paint and totally removable)
Oh... it currently has the green strings which actually look really great
*** Additional Disclosures*** I routed from the pickup to the control cavity and it is a pretty amatuer job but it works. Everything is covered with the pickguard.
There is also a small ding in the paint on the back of body near the bottom of the bass, I have no idea how it got there.
Looking for $750 OBO shipped in a decent gigbag. I might also consider a trade or partial trade, but not sure what I am looking for.

    ok, here's one:
i have a weirdo that i love, but rarely use:
late 70's musicman slab body with EMG active J-bass pickups (not sure of the preamp, but is 2 tone) with a Moses Graphite neck, musicman proportions. plays great, sounds great. right now it has DR Lo-Riders on it that sound great.
I don't have any photos here, but i could take one tonight if you think you would be interested.

Thanks, but the slab body thing is a bit of a turnoff to me. Sounds like a pretty cool and unique bass though.

    I know what you mean.
It doesn't bother me, but I wouldn't choose it either.
Good luck! That thing looks pretty cool and I bet it sounds great too!
