TRADE DEAL PENDING! April 1, 2014

    Specs:
    -Olive Top with matching headstock
    -Northern Ash body
    -Flamed Maple Tone Block
-Birdseye Maple Fretboard, Pick-up covers, and Ramp
    -3 Piece Maple Neck
    -24 Large Frets
-Seymour Duncan Dual Coil Pick-ups (with coil tap for single coil mode)
-2011 Mike Pope 3 Band Active/Passive Preamp (just awesome!)
-19mm String Spacing at the bridge

From information I have gathered from various sources, this bass started production in 2005 and was delivered to Austin Bass Traders in November 2006. It originally had EMG pick-ups and Black Hardware. It visited the Fodera shop some time in 2011 for a few upgrades and it looks like it does now with the Gold Hardware and latest electronics. All of this was completed prior to my ownership.

It's virtually a Richard Bona Signature model with the exception of the reverse headstock.

I'll tell you right now, this bass is fantastic. It can completely cop a 70's J-Bass sound along with any other modern sounds with the versatility of the Pope Preamp. Mind you, the passive tone is simply awesome.

At the moment, this is being posted as a feeler as I'm not 100% on letting it go just yet. Had an ad up earlier this week in which I deleted. Believe me, this ad may disappear rather quickly, so please get in touch via private message if you are remotely interested.

Hard to put a trade value on this one when to buy this same spec now is in the region of $12k to $13k with a 13 to 16 month wait. The Richard Bona Signature Model is almost $11k. I'm thinking in the neighbourhood of $8,500 to $9,000 which makes it pretty easy to swap straight up for another Fodera Custom, two Alleva Copollo's, or two Fodera Standards.

    Haha…..nice. Coke and a smile.

    Quick update:

Just last night I was brave enough to take the ramp off.
It felt like it was super glued on…..but it was just double sided tape. I found a new tool for ramp removal….a very thin metal paint scrapper. Worked fantastic. Check out the picture.

Wow. Beautiful. BTW auto dashboard kits are made of plastic and have angles and edges perfect for ramp removal. Much safer. You are one brave soul taking a metal paint scraper to a Fodera!

I tried a plastic scraper first. The metal scraper I have was is very thin. I also removed the strings and pick-ups.

    Worked beautifully.

The Polymer finish on Fodera's is quite tough!

    34" Scale

Just shy of 11lbs. Call it 10.9lbs from my digital Rapala Fish scale!

Balances well on a good strap.

    Moody straps work fabulous.

It's beautiful. I have some fodera but none planning to be parted. This definitely will be my next target if can work out the budget. Bump for a wonderful fodera.
