    Sold!
I purchased this bass solely because it was advertised as 8lbs. Well, it's not. Weighs in at 9.2 on my scale, slightlly lighter than an average but not 8lbs. The herniated disk in my back requires me to use only the lightest basses out there so this one has to go. The necks on the Am Specials are amazing, never played one I didn't love.
2011 model, in fantastic shape. I never gigged it, the previous owner took excellent care of it. Stock except for the vintage style tort guard and straplocks. No trades unless you have a Stingray HH or Warwick Fortress I could trade towards.
    $585 shipped.

Nice. What exactly does "American Special" mean, was it built in the United States?

if this bass is too heavy then you need to stay away from any stingray HH

Yes,,the bass was built in the USA..but American Specials have thinner necks (front to back OR fret board to back of the neck) that does the American Standard. The American Special neck have graphite rods added for strength (because the necks are so thin)they are called Thin C Shape by Fender.

Bump for such a great price on this. Love my Special as much as my Geddy. Would take this one too if I hadn't already blown my Christmas gift money on upgrading the rig...
