My new baby! This bass just made my jaw drop. Had it for about a month now... just a BEAST of a sound.

Sure, why not......Actually, I was not even aware they existed.

    Could be interesting for comparison.

When and if you get either, post a pict. and request a number:bassist:

I bought this from Amazon when they were running that special for under $300.00. I could't resist. It's got a nice, bright sound, and an easy jazz-like neck. Well worth the price, even at $500.00.

I only know that it existed. I think it was like some modern pj thing, active pre, 4 and 5, slim body sstyle, etc. Go digging if you'd like, I'm interested as well!

The original Dimension models were produced from 2004 - 2007, in both 4 & 5 string models. They featured 24 frets, active electronics, no pickguards, and tilt-back head stocks. I found this info on the Fender website listed in an article titled "Other Fender Basses, part lll: early 1990s-present".

Based on the pics and description, I want one!

I'd post a link but I'm posting from my phone and don't know how...

Interesting... I am noticing that there is a notch at the heel of the neck on the Chinese and American version but not the Mexican version. You see that?

I was debating getting one of these new dimensions, probably going to wait until I can find a cheap used one as I want one to mod. Anybody taken the guard off? What is the routing like underneath? I think it looks absolutely terrible, so I would want to remove it but not if there is a big ugly CNC hole.

The original dimension. Quite different from the modern breed.

Think of a Ray that is MUCH LIGHTER. Or in you case think a Dimension that is much lighter than the typical Ray.

Post a pick and ask for a number:bassist:

I'm glad to report that there is no CNC hole. On the other hand, I'm somewhat troubled that the pick guard shielding stops only about a 1/4" from the controls. No noise that I could tell though. Cost cutting, I'd wager.

I didn't realize there is a Mexican version. The notch, if I understand what you are referring to, is for access to the spoked truss rod adjustment screw.
