Welcome to the Fender FSR Club. After looking high and low I came to the realization that we owners of the FSR do not have a club to call our own. Well fret no more. Whether you have a P or a J feel free to post it here. You may have your bass posted in one of the other numerous Fender clubs on TB and that's okay. Now we have a place to call home. As another TB member had told me, the FSR is the "best kept secret in bassdom". And you know what, I couldn't agree more. Okay, lets get this club rolling. Here's mine

Fender Special Run...basically Fender and a retailer negotiate a limited run of a color, they are pretty mexican basses.

And.....the MIA FSR's that were issued in mahogany and wine special finishes were NOT sponsored by GC. Only the natural 2012 MIA special finish was a special run for GC.

Well mine is a MIM, ash body, natural finish, rosewood fretboard, and a tort pick guard. Some come in different colors. The older ones came with white and I think black pick guards.

I got this off the Fender website:

"FSR" stands for Fender Special Run. These products are specially commissioned by individual dealers and built to their specifications. As they aren't regular production models, FSR instruments and amps aren't generally available to every dealer, and Fender seldom provide specs or listings for them on its website. Your local dealer, however, should be able to provide detailed specs for any FSR products they offer.
