For sale is a Korean made, Fender 24-fret active 5-string with a sunburst-y finish and rosewood fingerboard. It also has modded electronics that seriously upgrades it's sound.

Serial number dating (#08031527) [DEL]puts it between 1988-1996 according to Fender[/DEL]

edit: thanks to roho the correct age of this bass is figured out to 2007, which makes way more sense. Fenders dating on their website is incorrect it appears.

    Other goodies:

    1. Through-body stringing
    2. 24 fret
    3. Aguilar vintage J-bass pickups
    4. Bass Mods two band pre
    5. Passive tone control

So the electronics have been *seriously* upgraded and between the Aggie pickups, the bass mods pre, and the passive tone control, this thing sounds like a modern boutiqe bass, but with Fendery-ness. I know everyone says stuff like that, but really, this thing has an amazing back pickup tone for a 5 string, and with the bass mods pre, you can marcus, or get a p-bass front pick up chunk, it can do it all and sound HUGE. Active or passive with the mods, and still able to get tone out of it. Very very flexible.

Only getting rid of it because it has to be one-in-one-out for me, and I got another bass, and so this one has to go.

Vastly prefer local Seattle area sale if possible, but will ship of course as well.

Because of the upgrades, listing this at[DEL] $800.00.[/DEL] $700 + shipping It will give $1500-16000 basses a run for their money, no joke.

The cosmetic issue came from when the pickup cavity was being routed out to make the Aguilar's fit, and the dremel got away from me for a second. But you can't see it from 4 feet away. Picture below.

Glad you like it, it is a stealth bass that will surprise a lot of folks. Someone will get a machine!

The price includes shipping btw, so for a local sale there could be some adjustments.

Is the B-string tight and defined?

Def under the radar for me. Is the neck shape and width like other JazzV's?

The neck shape (they call it D Profile I think) is wide (from B - G direction) and pretty chunky. It is thick for sure, but very playable. This one is definitely a personal preference aspect of a bass, so if you like some mass, you will probably like this.

And yes, the B-string is very clean and tight and present for a 34 inch scale bass. Nice thick sounding C and B notes.

I will post some sound clips over the next couple of days for all to hear with a finger-style and a slap sample.

These are incredible Jazz 5's. With the Ag pups and the Bassmods pre, it is a monster. I would own this bass without the mods. These were some of the best Foreign Fenders made. TTT

Price Drop Bump - $700.00 plus shipping, or if you are local just $700.00 out the door.

Sending you a PM now. Is it 34" or 35" scale? And is the string spacing is 18mm or 19mm at the bridge? I think most Deluxe Jazz basses are around 18mm. Gonna message you now for more specs. Thanks for posting!
