Coffee & Cream!Next I have a Fender Squier precision bass from the 80's maybe. I was sold to me as being from 1978 but Squier didn't exist then so...... I have no way of knowing for sure; Thats what I was told when I bought it plus the price was right. From the looks of the cavity it used to be candy apple red. When I got it had been stripped and a few parts had been filled. I know it looks gold in the pics but this body is actually the EXACT same color as a starbucks bottled Frappuccino drink. I finished this myself as with the first bass it's not a pro job but this bass can be refinished. This body is light and made for a 8.3lb bass. Alder body also. Cream pickguard and electronics with 1uf cap added.

Well, Squier didn't exist in 1978, so that's one way of knowing for sure.

Did they even make a P model when they started? My memory says it was all Bullet and Bronco basses and similar? Back then my line knowledge was limited to whatever was hanging in the store, no internet, so I'm sure I could be wrong.

Yeah they made a JV P bass in 1982. That bass would have to be from 1985 or newer as the JV and SQ basses that first came out didnt have a control channel route like that. If its laminate and not solid wood it would most likely be Korean made.

Just so you know and I will take a pic later, this is not one of the regular laminated MIM bodies that show the laminates on the side. It is a 3 -piece body that can be left as a natural color.

Open to trades bump. I'm looking for a DI channel pedal with eq and possibly compression. Will add cash if necessary.

You may want to post that this is a classic 60s fender jazz body, its a $800 new bass instead of the standard mexican fender jazz which is like $600. These are as you said 3 pieces usually not laminated and also they dont have a channel route so you can have it with a guard off.

A lot nicer bodies then the stock standard MIM bodies.

Maybe this is a sign from the low end gods that I shouldn't sell these. Off to eBay perhaps.
