Fender Jazz Bass 62 re USA or Japan??

    What does it mean "Hector montes"?

    Hard to say for sure, but it probably is US. The serial number is not very revealing.

    V070655 (V+6 digits), as one can see clearly on the neck plate could indicate Japanese made 1996-1997 or could be a US vintage series. I think that the neck bearing the heel stamp "Hector Montes" looks US made.

    It looks like a US 62 RI, V serial # Stack knobs, I don't think they did the stack controls on Japan models. Also you can look at pot codes.
