I have bought a Mexican Jazz deluxe 5 but want to change out the neck with an American Deluxe neck, are they directly interchangeable? Also if so, are there other necks that come to mind that also fit? As always thank you fellow TBer's in advance.:help:

Nope! The only replacement necks are from Warmoth. The Standard 5 neck.

If you can get ahold of a Squier VM 5 neck, that would probably work. The problem with the US Deluxe neck is that it's 21 frets rather than 20, so the heel is too wide for your body.

Huh? I though the extra fret was in the form of a lip of the fingerboard that extended over the body, and that the neck pocket depth, width and contour were the same?

I believe that is true of warmoth necks, but not the fender us deluxe. I could be wrong though, anyone got a pic of the fender neck heel?

In any case, the squier neck I mentioned will definitely work for you, as will the warmoth standard 5 neck suggested earlier.
