They're one of those "weird" fenders that they only made a few of. SO, no, I haven't played one. But, it's probably pretty cool.

I had a blue one and I wish I still had it. I added a d-tuner and a set of EMG PJ pickups in a custom pickguard. It sounded great, played fast, and was very unique.

Wow, those things are pretty cool, thanks for sharing Klopp18! I wonder why Fender stopped making them...

A friend of mine had one of those back in about 88 or so. We called it the Fred Flintstone Jazz Bass because it had a chisled look to it. I personally didnt care for the looks because I could never get past that horrible looking headstock.

Thanks for reminding me of when I was younger tho!

    +1

If they had put a normal fender headstock on it, it would look really cool IMO

I've got 3 of them (they used to go for real cheap).

Here's one of mine during surgery:

I had one. Acquired through a trade. Couldn't WAIT to sell it! It was just not comfortable to me at all.

The Super Fly Pencil Neck! I actually thought they sounded awesome and I kinda like the look of the metallic ones. Couldn't get around the neck though.
