Fender pickguard

    I own a Fender MIA Standard P bass. I want to replace the pickguard with the gold anodized one from '57 AVRI.
    Will it fit?

    It will fit. 9 of the 10 holes on the ano'd guard will line up. There is one between the pots that doesn't exist on the 13-hole pattern that you can either drill or leave alone. The aluminum guard is sturdy enough that it won't matter if you don't put a screw there. Other than that, there are the holes for the pickup cover and tugbar that bother some folks if you don't choose to install those accessories.

    If you can find one, the late-'90s-early-'00s MIM P Bass Specials had a gold ano'd pickguard with the 13-hole pattern and no screwholes for tugbar or pickup cover.
