My Fender select Jazz bass just did not look right with the white pick guard so I tried a little change…

I actually like the white one better. No surprise - I usually prefer white pickguards.

I like the white better too. But if I had a bass like that, I'd take the guard off completely.

Not me, I like the new one better. And I'd go one step further and add either a tort or black guard to the bass too.

That p-bass flame is incredible...wish they were more consistent with their tops on the select series.

Get a nice ashtray for that baby. A girl is always prettier with jewelry.

i was scared you sanded off the top layer of wood with a belt sander and then replaced it with another kind of wood

you are right. I had not thought about black on the P bass. I did think about Tort and that is the one I went to get but they did not have it for the P.

I will think this over. they did have a black one for the P

Personally, I would have went with black. Not a fan of either white or tort. IMO, tort is WAY over-used.

White plastic is for bathtub surrounds. Tort looks good, black would have, as well. Imo.

I like the tort much better. I am not a fan of plain white PGs on any bass. I would also consider a white perloid or better yet, a vintage white/cream perloid for the J. I would definitely tort the P if possible.
