Cool. Though that headstock looks like an old clogg.

Whats up with fender being on a roll with cool not the same old crap lately. Very cool. :bassist:

OMG! A new short scale Starcaster. I must have one in natural. It's ironic that Fender called their cheap, entry-level pack basses Starcaster. But if these sound anything like the original '70s models, sign me up for one.

The 6 string is the only guitar I still have GAS for. Looks so nice.

Damnit Fender, why do you do this to me? I'm out of money!

I've been over on offset keeping tabs on developments related to the Coronado and Starcaster. They are Modern Player series I believe, and will be made in China (at least that seems to be the consensus over there). I bit of a bummer in my books, but I'm sure a positive for many other's wallets. However, as has now been somewhat revealed with the Dimension Bass, it may be possible that they will also unveil US versions, as the Dimension was first put out as a MIC, and now evidence of a Deluxe, MIA model has been revealed.

It also appears Fender is putting out a Silverface Deluxe and Twin Reverb! I must say, I'm really impressed with Fender right now, rolling out all this new stuff, experimenting and such.

I think I'd rather have the guitar, but I'm pleasantly surprised and intrigued :) Will these be MiM?

Yeah. Apparently they cut and paste descriptions to save time. I chalk it up to a typo, not any kind of deception.

I would def stay away from that seller anyway. Low feedback and already a bunch of negatives.

Plus these haven't even been announced yet. Whatever info is there is probably BS. I wouldn't count on the price remaining the same or this dealer getting inventory. Especially not "first" as they claim. Fender may announce them this fall but my guess would be NAMM.

Yes, they're really stretching the boundaries of what is possible.

Personally, I'm waiting for a while before buying, for when they start to re-release the re-releases. Maybe by 2026 Fender will be ready to re-release the 2003 re-release of the '57 Precision. Should have all the bugs worked out of the design by then.

"Fender is proud to introduce the 2026 '03 '57 Precision... available in Museum®, Private Collector®, Under the Bed in Case®, Under the Bed Out of Case® and New NOOS® (New New Old Old Stock®) finishes."

The headstock is definitely a little fugly. There's no getting around that. And I'd personally prefer a rosewood fingerboard.

I'm sure these are going to be in stores soon enough. The eBay listing is nice because at the very least it confirms that the Starcaster hollowbody bass is on the way. But why buy a bass in a pre-order from some Canadian dealer when you can probably try one out locally in a matter of months?

Not to mention, why would Fender give first crack to a Canadian retailer over a US retailer. It's not like they're the largest dealer of Fender in North America or anything.

Those pickups look like what they use in the Modern Player Tele, and it looks like they fixed the issue with the mismatched pole pieces on the bridge pick up. (In that low res eBay photo at least)
