I just bought and installed another set of 9050ML on my P bass... They clearly feel and sound different compared to the previous sets (and I mean when they were NEW, of course).

So, did I buy a set with discrepancy problem, or did they change their recipe again??

How long ago did you buy the previous sets? Fender changed string sources within the last year or two and there was probably old stock out there even afterwards.

They were from the same newer series. I swap strings often. I happen to like the newer 9050 a lot... I just hope this new set I've got is the problem...

Well I haven't heard anyone say anything about another change. Try contacting Fender about them, if they is something wrong with them you might get a replacement.
