Were they ever made in this color?
I have one, but it's a 1983 AVRI, so it's not readily available.
I was curious about this: http://www.guitarcenter.com/In-Stor...ISSUE-P-BASS-FIESTA-RED-109675205-i3590681.gc
Called up and it turns out that it's a Warmoth body.
Nut is cracked, too.
They made them in the late 90's early 2000's as well.
Body is a warmoth yet they dont advertise it or drop the price. That actually maybe my old bass and I sold it in northern oregon.
Rich, you're hilarious. I called on that bass today, too!
I wish that was cheaper!
Then again, it'd be sold.
and they have it labeled as a AVRI??? And they're asking $1k???
No pics yet but this ad shows there could be a fiesta red AVRI '63 P-Bass about to come out (also burgundy mist metallic):
I had a Fiesta Red '62 AVRI with a mint green pickguard in 2001 or so, but unwisely sold it a few years later. It had the greatest neck profile of any P-bass I've ever played.
Interesting considering that Fender currently has Dakota Red as an option for their '63 AVRI. Would that be weird to have two reds? I prefer Fiesta Red myself so that would be great.
Yes, I've seen an 1982-1983 in that color.
Also a 1982 62 RI Jazz.
The early 80's are amazing.
