Saw the premiere of "Lowdown" at Sundance Film Festival last night. Flea plays a strung out trumpeter, good friend of jazz pianist Joe Albany. Flea is believable, sorrowful and a good character. He could give up his day job.

He has been acting since the early 80's and he is pretty good in everything I've seen him in.
    I agree.

"The Chase" is the only thing I can really remember him from, and I didn't like him so much in that - probably because the loud, over-the-top character he played. It's been years since I've seen it though, so I might have a different evaluation of his actual talent to pull off that character now than I did at 13 years old.

Yeah Suburbia is mainly the movie i know him for as an actor.

Anthony Kiedis is in a very short scene of Stallone's F.I.S.T. playing Stallone's son. He's a teen, that's pre-RHCP by a few years. I just mention ti for trivia, I hate Anthony Kiedis.

He was also the tattoo guy in "Son-In-Law" (an old Pauly Shore movie).

Actress-girl-main-character getting a tattoo: "Does it hurt?"

Flea: "It's better...than a kick in the face with a golf shoe."

I figured that the recent posts in this thread were about the Superbowl. The performance was a "live" performance, but pre-recorded. No way the NFL is going to put any rock star on live TV with a mic to represent their brand. Their pants were probably glued on, too.

    You're probably right.

Also, Flea had a part in 'My Own Private Idaho'. Great flick.
