To this day, this remains the finest instrument I've ever touched. Purchased new in 1999, this bass is in NOS mint condition. If you've ever considered challenging yourself to play the six using an instrument that will reward every element of your technique and musicianship, take note.

From the dramatic, sweeping curves of the carved top to the simply gorgeous and rich Brazilian fingerboard, this is as much a work of art as it is a premier example of the height of Vinnie Fodera's craftsmanship.

    The specs:

    • Hand-carved, highly figured Bubinga top
    • Ash body wings and tone block
    • Brazilian rosewood fingerboard
    • 36" scale
    • Aero Instruments dual coil pickups in wood covers
    • Gold hardware
    • Mint Fodera teardrop XL hardshell case

This bass is flawless, stunning and exquisite in every sense of every word.

I'm on the fence as to whether I actually sell this or not. I am looking at another Fodera that will replace this. If that deal doesn't happen, I will not sell.

$11k (which is an extremely reasonable price for an instrument of this caliber, features and vintage).

The only other thing I would consider is a trade for an early Fodera 5 or 6 with a Chestnut top and 19mm spacing.

    Thanks for looking.

I could never afford this bass but..........:D:D

Can we hear some recordings with all PU and coil switching options? Love that wood combo. Rosewood FB with an ash body is my favorite tonewood combo. How does the high C string sound IYHO?

    Thx

PS I just went through your flicker pics and you are one sick MF#$@. Geez........you have some nice instruments. Good luck with the sale amigo.

I have a dual pickup one like this with chestnut top. You can't go wrong with it. Plays faster than all my other basses regardless of scale.

Thanks everyone -- I appreciate all the nice comments.

The deal I was considering isn't going to happen, so I'm going to close this down and return to my senses.

It pains me to do this but I'm putting this one up for sale officially. The price is incredibly reasonable -- Take advantage while you can.

I guarantee you there is not another comparable six on the planet at this price. This is classic Fodera in every sense. Vinnie pulled out all the stops on this bass -- and it's in MINT condition.

    Oh my!

I had a chance to play an AJ recently and it was just the most amazing thing in terms of tone and playability!

    Thanks guys.

They're all great but there is something really special about these particular basses. They are an order of magnitude above the already amazing instruments that they build!

Thanks guys. Yes, it's a beauty and at a steal of a price. Someone will realize it and grab it; Others will kick themselves later if they ever wanted a Fodera six! It gets no better.

Anyway, in no rush to sell.
