For Sale: 1978 BC Rich Koa Eagle, Price Reduction $1700.00 shipping included for sale only in the lower 48 states.

I am the original first owner of this bass, purchased Feb 1979. It is in excellent condition with original case and instruction manual.

    All electronics working
    6-way varitone control
preamp booster switch with volume control
    dual sound pickup switches
    phase switch
    master volume control
    tone control
    pickup selector switch

This bass has not been played often, mostly sitting in its case at home. Very little wear and all original. There are two small nicks in the finish on the lower edge near the jack, the jack plate is cracked and tarnish on some of the nickel screws and case hardware. The frets show very little wear and are original.

The bass is very attractive with its lightly figured koa neck and swirly rosewood fingerboard.

Just a little fyi, typically the serial nuber is 2 years behind what is stamped on the headstock. I have this identical bass with the serial number starting with 78. Its a 1980. The most beautifully designed bass ever produced. And "the" best bass for metal! :hyper:

I know this is from 1978 because of the serial number and the date I purchased the bass. According to BC Rich experts the serial numbers did not go past the 1000 per year till after 1978, making this one the 876th bass produced in 1978. I also bought this personally Feb 20, 1979 at Bananas at Large in San Rafael CA. This is a wonderful player with almost no wear, original case with paper work from sale. 100% functioning electronics with only minor cosmetic issues for a bass that is 36 years old. Thanks for the interest by everyone, if you have any questions, I'm here.

That's gotta be the nicest Eagle in the world at this point. Light, too. Always loved these things, wanted one way back then... Bump!

    spufman,
Thanks for the bump, these are great basses that are under-appreciated, especially the early years. Much less of these than the following years when their sales took off. Additionally the basses are more versatile than just the metal genre, offering a wide variety of tones. I used mine in mostly rock and blues even tho some of the band thought it looked too flashy and preferred the look of a fender.
