The upright that I learned on has sat unused in my studio for quite sometime; I'm a rock/electric player at heart, and after years off logging many playing hours a day I've also developed mild tendonitis in both wrists which makes the upright more of a chore than a joy.

I'm looking to donate my upright to either an after school program or another bassist/music student that doesn't have the means to acquire one otherwise; it's in need of a new set strings (the G string broke at the tuning peg, I'm assuming from remaining un-played for so long) but aside from that is in great shape.

Living a reasonable distance from Los Angeles is an obvious must, anyone interested should send me a PM telling me a bit about yourself and your musical situation; after a week or two of fielding PM responses I'll decide on the best way to move forward.

    Cheers & Happy Holidays!

Agreed, a wonderful thing. MDBass, I'm pretty sure I have a used string to replace the broken G. If you PM me with your mailing address, I'll send it to you.

The bass was given to a young player from the projects in LA.

I've forgotten the details and don't have time to find them right now but there's another thread with more discussion. It was a wonderful act of selflessness.
