1. Welcome to TalkBass 2014! If you're new here, we just went through a major site upgrade. Please post all concerns and bugs to the Forum Usage Issues forum. We will be monitoring that forum. Thank you for all of your feedback.

The TalkBass iphone/android app is NOT WORKING currently. We're working on it. Tapatalk IS working, so if you need to use an app, use Tapatalk. Try using your browser though - TalkBass is now 100% responsive to your phone/tablet screen size ;)

Please read the TalkBass 2014 FAQ for lots of great info on the new software.

They are for muting your strings. If you need to mute but you don't want to install a permanent mute or can't use your hands for whatever reason, this is an option

They are nice, inexpensive little accessory. I don't use mine often but I like it for recording and a few songs with lots of string crossings. I practice without it to improve technique then use apply it as needed.

Gosh thank god for these! As a balding 46 year old bass player if i have to go into CVS pharmacy one more time and get the stink eye from the16 year old clerk for buying hair ties to mute my harmonics I'll eventually die of embarrassment :)

Throw a dozen Trojan Magnums on the conveyor with them and I guarantee the cashier won't make eye contact with you at all
