As I was looking for 321 techniques on Youtube I clicked on some Alex Webster video tips. Great stuff (even if I miles away from being a Cannibal Corpse/death metal fan, I have huge respect for some of the guys' skills).

THEN...clicked on some recommended links (best Death metal bass players) and found out about Jeroen Paul Thesseling.

What a beast...then I ended up checking one of his project..

    Bastard...now i am GASSING for a fretless!!!

  2. Well that settles it... My next fretless will be a Warwick Thumb.

    Sounded beautiful. Thanks for posting

Thesseling is a beast. Probably some of the most in depth fretless playing I've ever heard, when you pay close attention you hear that his lines are full of the tiniest details of utilizing micro-tonal intonations. It's a rare level of craft.

If you're getting into Fretless players check out Joe Lester (Intronaut), Dominic 'Forest' Lapointe (Quo Vadis, Augury, Beyond Creation) and Robin Zielhorst (Exivious, Cynic).

After hearing Joe Lester on the song The Reptilian Brain from Intronaut's 2008 Prehistoricisms album, I become quite interested in not only getting a 5 string but also a Fretless 5. I now have both and I'm totally digging them.

FYI, Bir Enzarane is in Morocco. "Bir" means "(water)well."
