Inspired by reading about Bauhaus bassist David J on another thread, and listening to his playing for several hours afterwards, I have decided to fretless-ize this Squier. I just want a good, sturdy, maple neck with an unlined, ebony board. I have read mixed reviews of mighty mite ebonal necks, but may consider one as well. My main concern is a good neck pocket fit. Does anyone have any experience putting a new neck on this particular model of Squier? I would hope that all Squier / fender stuff would have standard dimensions, but I suspect that that may not be the case.

Thanks for your thoughts and guidance.

I like necks w/ a tele headstock too; I have browsed the warmoth site a bit, but I figured I should check with you knowledgeable folks before dropping any cash.
