I have for sale two old Kay basses that have been well played. One in the 7000 and one in the 10000 serial numbers. 1940 and 1942 respecitvely. No cracks in the necks. Some repair evident in several areas but appear playable. One may require a new soundpost as it appears slightly bent.

For those interested I can get some pics.

The 1940 has a brazillian rosewood board. Both will need a set up and some new strings for sure. I am primarily an EB guy so hopefully these can go to a good home.

    1942 is sold.

    1940 still aval.!

I realize this is cheaper that most advertised early Kay basses, but each will require some set up and work you could have a real great old historic bass. The necks and tuners are good.

Also. Forgot to mention. Both come with a soft case that appears to be original.

They both look nice! I thought I recognized your 'Current Gig' band name. You played the Michigan State Fair, yes? Dr. Balon booked the day bands; my wife and I (2 Stones Events) booked the evening bands.

Yes. Good memory. Yep we did the mich state fair this year. Great time. These old kay basses are pretty cool. Great tone. Although a set up and some new strings would really make them sing. They are not museum pieces, but I kinda like that aged look. :)

Also will consider partial trades and a package deal for both basses.

Very interested and NYC based, just... poor. Let me know if you're looking for anything in the way of trades + cash, or if I should start looking to make a payment plan on this haha
