Up for sale is my 1978 Precision Bass. It is factory black and sounds absolutely amazing. I'm not a P bass guy at all but this one nearly converted me. The only reason I'm selling this is because I recently picked up a '79 Greco Thunderbird that nails the P bass tone and I'm a college student so I could use the money.

Bass has been played. Was played for years in a punk band but has been in the closet since the late 90's till I bought it last year. Some forearm wear and a few nicks but nothing serious and nothing to the wood. The back of the neck has had the finish worn down on it. It feels amazing! Fat, wide P bass neck. The only non original parts are the knobs and the pickguard. I got it with a white guard that I changed for tort, I'll include both. Don't have the bridge guard. Ships in what might be the original case, no idea. It's old plastic, not doing too hot, but it'll protect it during shipment. Bass weighs 9.5 lbs, solid, but not overbearing.

Asking 1150 shipped CONUS only. Paypal is cool as well. The only trade I'd be interested in is a fiesta red Roadworn jazz bass. Need the money more than a new bass!

This is the most significant ding, it's not to the wood and no wood damage was done. Just some finish missing: View attachment 400807 View attachment 400806

Serial number is S8.... Which could be 77-78 but it's probably a 78. Anything else just ask!

How are the frets? Can the action be set low? I.e. no ski ramp? Also, can you take some pix of the back of the neck

Hey guys, sorry for the delayed responses. Been crazy between work and school. All pm's should be responded to.

In response to a lot of questions, I can get the neck/pickup codes/pot codes sometime either tomorrow or Friday when I have access to tools to do so. Sorry for not thinking through that!

Here's some pics. Couldn't really find much info on what these numbers mean. I think the pots are aftermarket.
