    Hello TB!

Up for sale is my recently acquired 1997 Fender Roscoe Beck Signature Jazz Bass V: 34" scale, 1.875'' nut spacing, 10 lbs./4 oz., with Bill Lawrence designed pickups. Aesthetically, she is in the same condition as the pictures depict below. One small noticeable ding on the back, otherwise she is in great shape for an instrument this age. POTENT B string on this one! :bassist:

I basically took delivery of this instrument, took her to church, played a service, and then put her back in her case. I thought about modding her and adding a preamp, but I have decided to let someone else enjoy her for what she really is -- an outstandingly versatile passive "jazz bass". Would love to keep her, but I'm moving two basses right now to finally buy a brand of jazz basses that I have put off owning for a couple of years... :bag:

$1550 shipped in a functional tweed hardshell case. :hyper:

what's she weigh, plz n thx

if you really want to keep it, a Sadowsky outboard preamp would get your job done...

    Hey Chef!

Edited original post to reflect the weight: 10 lbs./4 oz.

You read my mind! Outboard pre; however, I was thinking more along the lines of something onboard as I really don't want to carry one more thing to the gig. The Sadowsky route might be too modern/hi-fi and it doesn't feature a mid frequency cut/boost option... Aguilar is basically in the same tone universe... Nordstrand??? To be honest, she already sounds fantastic as is -- I just like to tinker with stuff, even when it's not broken. :smug: I reckon this would be a producer's/audio engineer's dream: passive + endless tonal possibilities.

I really, really do want to keep her but I know that this could easily become someone else's main axe and I really could use the scratch right now to fund a jazz bass that starts with an "A"... and ends with an "ollo". :bag:

Those old Apollos are underrated, IMO.

    Great avatar you've got there.

    Super looking Beck. GLWTS

I suspect he means Alleva Coppollo ;)
Nord don't make an outboard preamp, yet, though they've threatened to for some time.
The LR Baggs Paracoustic is really good, Radial/Tonebone make another that's good.

anyway, too heavy for me; glwts!

I just picked up a Warwick SSI, or I'd be Sniffin at this one!

I'll bet Barts would give this Dog the Bark it needs, passive, or with a Bart Pre...
