This is a rare bird for sure. You hardly ever see Clover basses in the US.

According to TB'er nick333, it's a Clover Avenger model from 1998 (see post #12 below).

The bass is in perfect condition. Absolutely no dings, dents, chips or scratches of any kind.

    Here are the specs:

    Scale: 34"
    Spacing: 18mm
    Weight: 8 pounds, 9 ounces
    Color: Corvette Yellow
    Neck: Graphite
    Board: Unlined Fretless
    Pickup: Bartolini
    Preamp: Bartolini
    Controls: Volume, Bass, Treble
    Switch: Active/Passive
    Hardware: Black

There is no truss rod but the graphite neck doesn't need one. The relief is perfect and it's currently set up with ridiculously low action.

The tone is what you would expect from a graphite neck fretless with Bartolini electronics. Very punchy yet warm with complex character. All in all it may be the prefect fretless bass. It's certainly one of the nicest I've ever played.

$1,750.00 OBO shipped and insured in the CONUS.

I may consider trades that net me at least $500.00 cash but an outright sale would certainly be my preference. Please PM me directly with any offers or questions.

    Thanks for looking!

Bump for a finely engineered, German built bass.....

Graphite has a voice all it's own!

I "might" trade for the right P5 (like the Valenti PJ-5 that Kenny Ames has listed).

I gotta hand it to you, Spence, you always come up with the goods. This looks somewhat like the Clover XP15.5, their mahogany fretless five. Yours has the lower cutaway downturned, though. I tried for a couple of months to get Clover to build me a fretless 6, but even through their US dealer, they were unavailable or on hiatus or something.

It would be great if you could growl it up on a couple of short clips, Spence. Seems to me you had a couple of nice clips on a fretless sale thread of yours a while back.

    Cheers and Bumps.

TTT, still working on sound clips.....

This bass is an excellent alternative to a Modulus Q5 if you prefer a more comfortable 34" scale.

The color is actually a little more "orange" than it appears in the two photos above. It really looks to me to be the same yellow color as what Chevy currently offers on the new Corvettes.....

This is the Clover "Avenger" model, circa 1998. I imported it originally . I recall it being a very fine bass.

Thanks for the info Nick, very much appreciated. I agree that it is indeed a fine example of German craftsmanship that's not often seen in the states.
