I’m the original owner. I purchased this pre in 2002. This is the single rack space revision. Used it on many gigs but it hasn’t seen much use in the last 5-6 years. So I am selling. Works perfectly. Some minor scuffs/scratches and minor rack rash. Always racked in a SKB rack case. Great, clean sounding pre. $425 plus shipping. Ships in original box. (Kern in photo for sale in another thread)

    Still available!
One thing I noticed the other day and forgot to mention, the cap on the treble knob is missing. You can see it in the photo. I forgot about this otherwise I would have called Demeter and purchased a replacement before I put it up for sale. I believe the same knobs are still in use and should be available.

How does it "A-B" with the Kern?

It's high quality like the Kern but much cleaner, less of a vintage tube sound than the Kern. Highs are glassy. Still an organic sounding pre with some warmth. When I had and was using the Kern, I would usually have a Millennia Media STT-1 and would switch between press depending on the room. For thin sounding rooms I would use the Kern to fatten up my sound. I also used the Kern for rock gigs. So I haven't had a lot of experience comparing the Kern and the Demeter. I used the Demeter for probably about 5 years exclusively on all kinds of gigs; rock, jazz, pop, theater. Worked great. Very versatile. If I was still using a pre/power setup, I would keep the Demeter and the Kern.

    Still available!

Hmm... I bet this would be the perfect pre for the IP112ER/HT112ER stack...

Not really interested in any trades. Trying to sell off excess gear I'm not using so the last thing I need is more gear. Thanks for looking.

If it hangs around long enough, I'll be buying.
