It's time to say goodbye to an old friend and a piece of luthier history: my Ken Smith BT, which was carved by Vinny Fodera in the early '80's. I bought this bass new from Apple Music in Portland Oregon in the early 80's -- this is serial # 129. The top is Blistered Maple, and it has an Ebony fretboard, brass nut, two Smith J-Bass pickups, Haz-Labs preamp, inset straplocks and Bad-Ass bridge (stock, of course).

This bass is a closet-classic. It's truly in mint condition, with excellent condition finish, frets and fretboard. In fact, there's almost no sign that it has been played. It will ship in the Smith teardrop hardshell case, with a Smith lambswool strap and cloth. I'd like to get $2,750 for it, shipped CONUS. Here are some cell phone pictures. Please feel free to call or email me with questions.

Instruments like this are the reason I am addicted to surfing the TB classifieds. Beautiful functional art with an interesting history. What an incredible bass!

I think I've answered everyone's PM's about trades. In short, I'd prefer cash, but I'd consider really-good five strings!

I've been asking myself for days if I can survive with only 4 strings.
