    CLOSED.

Another bass for the Sting fan is available for sale today. This one is the same model as a famous one he played with the Police: a 1978 Fretless P, in a natural finish + maple neck!

AFAIK, the bass is all original. Even the pickguard, which is chipped a little by the jack.

The bass has two marks that I have seen... one is some discoloration on a small part of the fingerboard, though it's very hard to see (look at the 2nd photo). The other is a crack in the finish, right of the pickguard. It's completely cosmetic, and the bass is in excellent condition otherwise as you can see in these photos.

I loved Sting's stuff during the Police era, and I wanted this bass. I don't play with it much anymore though - and I don't think I need a fretless for what I play. So this one is going up for sale.

Comes with some generic hardshell case with a purple interior and a polishing cloth.

[DEL]$1450[/DEL] [DEL]$1400[/DEL] NOW $1380 SHIPPED to the Continental US only. The bass will ship the Saturday after the bass was purchased. This is going to make someone REALLY happy!!!

Not sure, never measured. Pretty chunky, but not like the Steve Harris P...

It's a late 70's Fender, so this one is a little on the heavier side. I'd say maybe 10lbs... but not sure.

Beautiful bass! Love that fretless maple neck... Fender should've made this the Sting signature, not that monstrosity with the Stinglay :p

Now wait just a minute! :) I actually like that bass - just not in love with the vintage frets.
