SOLD I've gone back and forth on this decision but I'm sticking with my one in/one out policy.

    Fodera Monarch Elite (neck-through) 5-string
chambered walnut body, walnut tone block
    curly walnut top
    3-piece ash neck
    unlined ebony fingerboard
dual coil pickups, Pope custom shop preamp
    34" scale
    17.5mm bridge spacing
    10.0 lbs
Fodera hard case (newest deluxe version)
    all tools, etc

This bass can be strung either B-G or E-C. Right now has a set of Fodera nickel strings 40-120 (B-G). Dead mint condition. Has been out on a few gigs but mostly has stayed in my smoke-free studio. Case still has the classic Fodera scent. Incredible playability and tone. I've just decided that at heart I'm a 4-string guy so I'm sticking with that except for my one fretted 5.

New this is well north of $10K. Here is a link to the newborn section: http://www.fodera.com/Main/NewBornDetails.aspx?FeaturedItemID=668

    +1

I spent hours looking at many different woods early this year at Fodera and had to pick an almost identical piece for my current Monarch build. It was the best looking top out of dozens I looked at. It is absolutely killer.

Looks even better in person. Also the ebony fretboard is gorgeous as well.

I spec'ed out one of these Fodera Monarch 5 Elite Fretless for myself from the guys in Brooklyn that will come in right around $11K. Hard to completely articulate just what a steal of a deal this fine instrument is at this price... Kind of no-brainer territory for anyone considering a boutique fretless 5'er, methinks?

I can say with all candor, that if I wasn't fully committed to my order, this would be sold already!

    Best,

    Mike
