Up for grabs is an old friend- I've had this bass hanging around for quite a while and its been one of my main players...however as luck would have it, I messed up my back and its gotten to be too much bass for me.

This bass has a few isssues: First- it has the infamous first fret truss blowout- truss is not maxxed out- but close, - on good side neck is straight and bass has a nice low action (currently strung with .95-.40 strings). Second issue is bass has non orginal pickups. When I got bass it had EMGs which I like fine. I have since gotten a pair of reissue pickups out of a MIJ 60s RI jazz which I have not yet installed. I will install prior to shipping or if you would like to choose your own pickups I'll knock $100 off the price for bass with no pickups.
Last issue- is this one is heavey about 11lbs ( my scale says 10 but it feels more like 11)

The GOOD: bass has orginal finish which is nicely yellowed from years of bar band gigging- serious mojo- bass sounds fantastic- nice warm clear tone- none of that nasty brittle mid thing some of the later 70's jazzes get. All hardware is orginal, frets are in good shape with plenty of life left, Bass has been looked at by a local repair/restoration guy and he feels that first fret crack issue can be repaired fairly inexpensively. Bass plays fine, so I have not bothered until now.

I'm pricing this one accordingly at a pretty negotiable $1200 shipped to your door US 48. I am very open to trades, my main intersts would be:
    Euro Spectors
Reissue Jazz and Precisions (I'd really like a MIJ 51 P and a few bucks)
late 80s early 90s Stingray or classic series rays
    70s P basses
but open to other ideas as well.

Please feel free to PM for more pics as I know they arent easist to see in thumb nail form
