After much gnashing of teeth, I have to decided to let this go.

It's a 2013 AVRI 1963 P Bass in faded sonic blue. WEIGHT - within an ounce of 8.5 pounds. For those that don't know, Fender put 46 special neck plates on the first 46 made. (See below for pic.)

Bass is in excellent condition with the exception of a very tiny indentation smaller than a pencil lead on the back side of the bass. It did not break the finish. Be happy to go over the bass and take additional pics. While I did play this place regularly, I am a freak about guarding basses with my life.

The only change made to the bass was that I added non reverse GB640 tuners. I will return the bass to stock although I will leave them on and include original reverse tuners for a slight upcharge.

Case, all case candy, hang tags, case tag included. I may even have the original serial number box in storage BUT I WILL HAVE TO VERIFY.

It is easily the best P Bass that I have ever heard and I have mowed through a ton of them.

Why am I getting rid of the best P that I have ever heard? Well, I am playing 5 strings full time. In addition I will be ordering my third Dingwall. In order to mitigate potential divorce proceedings (yes, I'm kidding), I have to let this go.

The only thing I would be interesting in trading for is a Dingwall in 37 inch scale in the pricing vicinity of an AB 1. I can potentially add a few hundred for the right bass, Fair value versus fair value. Feel free to run anything by me you want, but I will likely be picky about a trade.

I'll go 1500.00 Shipped CONUS with original tuners, 1575.00 shipped conus with GB 640's and originals. No need for me to fire sale as I will happily tell Mrs Zoomie that I made an honest effort and am going to closet it.

    Thanks for looking !

Very difficult color to photograph accurately. It is beautiful and is clearly blue in person.

Both my Ding fivers are exactly 8.5 pounds and the AVRI has to be within an ounce worst case. I am extremely weight sensitive and cannot play 4 sets with a bass that weighs more than 8.5. Old guy ! rofl

Glwts! Can you share what the significance of '46' is? I mean...why not '50', for example? Forgive my ignorance.

Sure. Here you go. Off the Fender website.......

American Vintage Series Feature ’1st 46′ Units

A limited number of the new American Vintage Series instruments feature “1st 46” neck plates, a designation given to the first 46 instruments of each model year. These neck plates commemorate the fact that Fender was founded in 1946, as well as the fact that Fender is releasing the most accurate and beautiful Fender reissue instruments ever from key historical years. The neck plate will serve as an indicator that these “1st 46” models were the first of their kind to be built, as well as add an element of collectability to these first run instruments. These units will be randomly distributed around the globe for Fender fans everywhere to have a chance to find one in their local stores.

I recently acquired one of these, also in sonic blue, but not a 1st 46. The OP's comments are spot on - with a stable of 15+ p-basses this one stands out above the rest. One of Fender's best IMO. The next owner will be very happy with this.

I have responded to all PM's.

I have a potential trade on the table and two buyers that want it if trade fails to work out, so consider this gone.

It's kind of like an adoption process. My child needs to go to a good home !

    Thanks everyone.

Leaving this open until deal is completed then will close.
