Hand problems (and the lack of playing time) are driving me to put this one up for sale or trade.

The bass is a Japanese Burner Artist 6-string that was produced in 1991 with a hard shell case. I bought it new in 1992.

This was considered to be the top of the line Burner with more of an upscale look and the Claro walnut body wings. It also has a bit of the "hippy sandwich" look with the layered woods in the body.

It's in great shape and sounds great. There is a patch of blemishes in the clear coat on the top of the bass where my old guitarist dropped it about 15 years ago. Rather than that it is perfect.

Looking for a 4-string basss or potentially a 5-string (34 inch scale). Cash price would be $1200 shipped CONUS.

    Pics attached. Thanks for looking.

34" scale. String spacing seems to be just a hair under 3/4 inch (photo attached) ImageUploadedByTalkBass1383414420.271291.jpg

Just did the metric conversion and it looks like that equates to 17.5 mm.

To answer a question that came in via PM - yes it has Dunlop strap locks but I don't have he ends that go on the strap. I could scrape some up if that is an issue.

Funny, I bought an Artist 5, a '91 in '92 also. Identical to this one except it was a 5 and it had Jazz pickups in it. It's one I'd really like to have back. If this were a 5 it'd be mine. I bet those soaps KILL. If it suits you, this is genuine Smith quality at a bargain price. GLWS!!

You are absolutely right flipper...this thing kills. If it weren't for the hand issues I would keep it but I would rather it get into the hands of someone who can use it.

Would you consider trading this for an EBMM Bongo 4 HS? I'd pay for shipping and maybe throw in a few extra dollars!

Unfortunately no and I am out of town for the next 2 days. I don't really have any way to record them but I can see about putting something together once I get back. I'm considering 4 different offers right now so I may have made a trade decision by then though.
