Looking for $2100 cash or a trade for a 4 string jazz bass (possibly +/- cash). This was a tough call, but I've finally come to terms with the fact that this bass just isn't for me. Up for sale/trade is my MBasses Mj-5 built for me by Jon in late 2011.

I have to say that the build quality of this bass is absolutely impeccable. I recently had it plek'd and it plays like butter - super low action with no buzz. My main complaint is that I don't like the 19mm spacing and wide 5 string neck.

    Specs:
    - Alder Body
    - Rosewood Fingerboard
    - 3-Tone Sunburst
    - No Pickguard
    - Removable Rosewood Ramp
    - Nordstrand NJ-5 Single Coils in 70's Position
    - Passive Electronics (Volume, Volume, Tone)
    - 19mm string spacing at the bridge
    - 1 7/8 inch nut
    - Hipshot Ultralight Tuners

Full disclosure: I've put a few small marks in the finish over the last 2 years - one scuff on the headstock that you can see in the last picture and a couple of super tiny marks on the upper edge of the body that wouldn't show up in pictures. Otherwise the bass is mint. The headstock scuff is only visible under bright light and can probably be buffed out if you want.

Bump again. Feel free to contact me with questions. I'll try to find a scale to weight this on, but it's definitely on the light side (I specifically asked Jon to make it light when I spec'ed it).

i like the fact that it's a passive 5 with 19 mm spacing and minimal routing to the body (no pre). simple but tried formula.

I was really going for a "true" old-school jazz bass but in a 5 string when I spec'ed it. Unfortunately, I just have problems with the 19mm spacing.
