This bass has been traded, thanks.

For sale a 1974 fretless Fender precision bass, maple fingerboard. AMAZING condition, the instrument looks almost new. I bought it from a studio owner who told me he hardly ever used it in all those years. Weight is nice, 9.4 pounds. It comes in the original hard case, also in stunning condition. The only part non original, to my knowledge, are the pots, which are more recent CBS ones, from the 80s. I don't have the original bridge guard, PU guard and thumbrest, but I will provide brandnew Fender originals.

A lot of huge photos here:

Price is 1900 USD plus shipping

Trades are possible, although I prefer a straight sale. For the trades, please dont offer modern-looking basses. I like fretted Fenders (vintage or CS), US Laklands, Sadowskys, you know, that kind of stuff.

    Hi everyone,

Quite a lot of interest on this lady... Well, I have just taken the neck apart to check the truss rod and take some more photos. The neck is VERY TIGHT in the neck pocket (which probably explains the nice sustain...). When I removed it from the body a lot of wood dust appeared. Considering the unusual time-capsule condition and the bass's calm and happy life at the studio, I am quite sure this has been the first time someone removes the neck from this body EVER. The truss rod screw turns with nice resistance in both directions. I left it exactly like it was because this neck is straight and the string action is nice. I added more photos to THE GALLERY to show all this, plus details of the neck, fretboard, electronics and all the stuff under the pickguard.

You won't encounter many old Fenders in this condition, I can tell you that.

Wow. This thing makes me want to jump up and play "In My Time of Dying."

Are you still trying to trade off the 71?

My 71 is now in the hads of a very happy new owner in Ohio. The bass went back to her motherland. In exchange I got a beautiful bass guitar that should arrive anyday now. Thanks for asking!
