I bought this to play at a friend's 50th bash overseas last summer and it was just the ticket: fits in an overhead bin for air travel, is indestructible due to neck through graphite construction and the neck never moves. 34"/17mm. I cannot find any flaws/issues. Includes Steinberger bag. This is a light one under 9 lbs (hard to find as most are about 10 lbs). Action is set low. Blendable magnetic and piezo pups with 2 band preamp.
I replaced the rear strap pin with a Dunlop.

    Specs here:

    http://steinberger.com/XS15FPACST.html

Sweetwater currently sells these new for 999.

Mine available for 675 shipped CONUS from NY, or can be picked up in Montreal for the same price. Shipped to CAN from Mtl for 750. Not looking for trades but might be tempted by a sub 9lb 5 string Lakland. Will also consider a top quality small 110 or 112 combo, super 12 cab or micro head or Mesa head.

    Pics later.

So string spacing is 17mm verses what the Fenders V's are in the 19mm range?

Yes. Fenders vary by year, model and country of production. Current Fender Am 5ers have an adjustable bridge from about 17-19mm,
Spector USA 5s come std in 16mm, and I think 5 string 'rays are 17 or 17.5

Bump for sweet modern tones in a package that fits in an airline overhead bin, is virtually indestructible, and maintains setup regardless of humidity or temperature. I took it from Montreal to the beach in Greece and it remained in tune!!!!

I wish these got a little more love/respect...
I have a fretted & fretless (in white) and like them a lot.
Versatile, lightweight and well-balanced, great tones.
    Killer B, especially for a 34" scale.
Can use double-ball -and- standard strings !

You MIGHT be hearing from me in a few weeks (after tax returns)... looking for a fretless 6-string but chances are I won't find one that I like and this is next on the list. Haha. Just so you know.

Per the original post, just under 9 lbs (8.8). It is significantly lighter than average for these.
