Breaks my heart to sell these beauties, but I've got to put their value towards some other studio expenses. They've seen very little use, and have been sitting in storage for years waiting for the right recording session to come along. Just had them checked out at the Lakland factory, where they were given a clean bill of health.

The 55-94 is an early model in cherry sunburst with a beautiful quilted top. Bartolini pickups. Beautiful grain/texture on the birdseye maple fretboard. The only flaw I can find is a very small chip in the finish by the truss rod opening (see photo) where the previous owner must have tried making an adjustment with the wrong tool. $2700, comes with original hardshell case.

The 44-94 is virtually unplayed with a gorgeous dark sunburst top, one of the nicest I've ever seen. The photos don't do it justice. The latest LH-3 pickup system. $2850, also comes with original hardshell case.

Local pickup in the Chicago area is preferable. Otherwise, buyer pays any shipping costs.

You can't go wrong here Stan. If I didn't have one just like it, I'd have grabbed it.

I'm kinda out of touch with the Lakland models.
Do you know which body wood … ash or alder ? probably ash.
Does this bass cop a pretty good P-bass vibe?
What is the difference in the newer LH system compared to the older I think Bartolini set?
    Thanks

    Hey, Big String - PM'd you a long-winded response.

I agree, Basspraiser - Stan's a lucky man to have snatched up that 55! Some incredible pieces of wood. For my own tastes, I'm actually a bit partial to the wider-grained top on the 44. Photos really don't do it justice. I'm almost hoping I can find an excuse to keep it around!
