Selling my Japanese Lakland Shoreline Jazz bass. It's this one: http://www.espguitars.co.jp/lakland/shoreline/sl44-60/index.html

    Price [DEL]$1300[/DEL] $1100 shipped CONUS

Current price new in Japan is 336,000 yen, which is about $3200 USD. Everything is Japan is more expensive though, so to be fair if these were available in the US (which they are not), I'd guess about $2500 retail (totally a wild guess).

    Includes SKB case pictured

Search the threads for Shoreline to read up. Basically this is similar to the Skyline specs with some improvements like graphite reinforced neck. The general consensus is that these models (which are built by ESP in Japan to Lakland specs) are between Skyline and US Laks in terms of build quality and playability.

This is a spectacular instrument. It looks and plays like a dream. Pickups are Fralins. It was recently professionally set up by Fearless Guitars here in Portland.

I'm selling because I'm just not playing it enough and I need more toys. I play an EB Sterling in my main band and I have a Fender "Boner" J/P bass which adequately covers the kinds of sounds I want to make.

Working on photo upload now and will follow up momentarily with eye candy.

Note the normal belt buckle scratches on the back. That is the only cosmetic flaw to report.

Jeff, got your PM on this subject but will reply here to benefit the rest of the thread watchers:

Regarding the wood, I don't know. How can I find that out?
[EDIT] I'm pretty sure it's Alder. Looking at the product page, the Swamp Ash appears to only apply to the natural finish models: http://www.espguitars.co.jp/lakland/shoreline/sl44-60/index.html[/EDIT]

Regarding the Lindys, it came with them I believe. I bought the bass from the original owner.
