This is a nice one. May need a neck reset eventually (they all do), but this one is certainly still comfortable to play. The low E action at the 12th fret is around 7/64ths of an inch according to my StewMac string height ruler.

Electronics all work fine - this bass sounds huge. Lots of low end, and of course there's that McCartney thump. All original as far as I can tell. There is some tarnish on the metal parts, but that is to be expected on a bass of this vintage. There are a few finish cracks too, but again - that's par for the course. This one is in remarkably good shape for its age.

Also comes with what I'm fairly certain is the original hardshell case. If it weren't for the tarnish on the metal latches on the outside of the case (all of which work perfectly), I'd think the case was much newer than it is - the interior is very very clean, no smell.

Looking for PRICE DROP $1200 Shipped/Paypal'd to the Continental US. Sorry, no overseas buyers on this one. Slightly lower price for an in-person deal here in Atlanta GA.

As far as trades - probably not, but try me. I'm a fan of Rickenbacker guitars and basses, MIJ/MIA Gretsch, Epiphone Elitist Casinos.... do you sense a theme here? :)

Bump with photos added and a lower price - $1400 shipped/PP'd to the CONUS. I don't think my price'll go any lower than this, so let me know if you're interested!

Too bad, that's a nice looking Ric!

I have an Epi Elitist Casino inbound so this one's mainly for sale now, unless you've got a really compelling trade offer.

    Thanks!

    No Hofner love?

Don't let the neck thing scare you - this bass is comfortable to play and sounds great. It might need one *eventually* but almost every Hofner does at some point.

How about $1325 shipped in the CONUS?

I may also entertain a partial trade for a Fender '51 P in butterscotch with a maple neck (i.e. not the Sting version).

I'm a sad, desperate man at the end of my rope!

Well... not really. But I am motivated to sell. Make me some compelling cash+trade offers and who knows what might happen...

Well, I have just a couple of questions I'd like to ask you privately but I'll be damned if I can find a way to do that. If you can figure out how to PM me, please do so and I'll reply back to you with my questions. Thanks.

Seriously guys - make me an interesting offer. Cash, trade, cash plus trade - this is a nice Hofner and someone's going to really dig it.

    Thanks!

Wish I still had my Gretsch 5120 in orange I could offer up as a partial trade. I used it to help me get my P-bass. I'd love to have that Hofner.
