    TB,

If you always wanted an MTD 535 but prefer a 34" bass well buy yourself an early Christmas present and look no further! I am the original owner of this bass. Custom ordered and delivered a few weeks before last Christmas. MTD 534-21, Serial #2284, Ash body, Walnut Burl Top, Maple Neck, Maple FB, 8.5LBS and in PRISTINE LIKE NEW CONDITION. Comes in a Reunion Blues Continental gig bag (un used). MTD's have a wide tonal palette as many of you know. This one's "natural" voice is deep, articulate, clean with a very responsive attack. $4,500 brand new & a 6 month wait. Yours for $3,600 SHIPPED IN CONUS. When this arrived for me to pick up from my local dealer, they took plenty of pics. I can e-mail you those pics, just shoot me a PM. Absolutely no trades as I ended up going in a different direction. Thanks for looking!

Holy crap, if that was a 6-string with 24 frets and matching knobs, that would be exactly what I'm considering ordering. Looks fantastic! Can't wait to hear some sound clips.

8.5 lb is a perfect weight for a 5 string bass. GLWS!

Recently Picked up a Walnut/Ash 535/24 and can say it's an incredibly dynamic and vocal bass. I thought I wouldn't dig a non-wenge MTD but it kills, really enjoying in despite a previous prejudice against 19mm 35" basses. Someone will be very happy with this bump...

Here are a couple of very rough clips of the bass since a couple of folks have asked. First one is a mess around reggae instrumental. Bass was a week old with some bright MTD SS. Unmixed straight to the board...

This one is a hip-hop w/some island flavor tune. Mixed a lil but definitely not the final cut. By this time the bass had some Nickels (D'Addario's). Again, both clips do not do the bass justice (blame the player not the MTD :smug:).

    Still available, thanks!

What a nice sounding bass! Makes me think my ash maple maple bass is still cureable with some nickel strings to get it to sound a little warmer...
    Less agressive...

Thanks and I TOTALLY agree! The MTD stock SS we're to my ears a wee bit too aggressive so I threw the D's Nickels cuz I had a set lying around the house. To my surprise no loss in clarity and it gained some warmth and fatness. I highly recommend Nickels for those with our wood combo and looking for a less in your face attacking tone.
