Up for grabs is this 90% completed project build I guess I'll never finish. Beautiful medium relic P bass in Candy Apple Red, matching headstock. Alder body and maple/rosewood neck, both from AllParts. Aged nitrocellulose finish by MJT. Aged tuners, string tree, bridge, knobs, and neck plate. Hard to see in the pics, but the pickguard is nicely aged with a slight amber tint. The neck was originally on a J bass, hence the decal. It wasn't sprayed over so you can remove it if you want to remove/replace it.

You only need to add a pickup and missing hardware. Just search eBay for "aged strap buttons" and "aged pickguard screws".

Weight on this bass is 7.7 pounds.

Nut is 1.5" Jazz width. Fretjob was done by yours truly, and I rolled the fretboard slightly. Back of neck is nice and smooth, not sticky, and not worn to bare wood like many relic jobs. Feels like a real vintage neck.

Please note - this particular body has no bridge ground wire route. Which is no problem, if you shield it properly. Most improperly shielded basses are noisy until you touch the strings, thanks to the bridge being grounded. But if you shield the pickup cavity and control cavity, run a wire between both cavities, and then a wire from the control cavity to the back of a pot, your bass will be properly shielded and always quiet. And not having your bridge grounded is actually safer (no risk of getting shocked at a gig).

Price is $675 shipped in the lower 48 states. Hard shell case included. No trades and no international shipping.
