    SOLD!

For sale is my Roscoe LG 3005.

    Puchased used here in 2009
    Top quilt maple green stain
Back unknown. Black on the back. Gard says it dates to the 90s but specs are lost to the ages.
    Maple board, no inlays.
    Serial Number 2208
Head stock was a scarf joint back then.
    Bart Preamp (single mid frequency)
    vol pan mid bass/treb stacked
    Wilkinson Bridge
Pickups were replaced with Barts from my SKB 3005 when I upgraded the SKB to Nordstrand.

    Condition
Player wear on the back of the body,
Two dings in un-noticable places on the horns. One goes to the wood.
Fingerboard finish wear on the lower fret positions 1-7
Finish is darkened on the back of the neck.
Not mint by any means but still looking and playing great.
Neck is .88inches front to back. (slightly thicker than my skbs) but still fast an comfortable.

It will ship in a Roscoe case via UPS ground. The one that came with this bass was trashed,
[DEL]$1500[/DEL] $1,350 Shipped. Lower 48 only. Paypal is fine.

Why am I selling? My SKB was upgraded to Nordstrand Singles in an attempt to get a Marcus Miller Vibe. It fell short so I purchased a Sadowsky. I'm selling this to fund the purchase.
My SKB will be converted back and I'll be putting the Nordstrand singles in my Fretless SKB3005.

The pictures with text were taken today. The ones without are from when I first got it a few years ago.

Case has a minty fresh outer fabric.

Inside not so much. My plan to include a newer case from a newer Roscoe fell apart, they are skbs and the cases are not universally suited for an lg.

This bass fits in my BRAND NEW Sadowsky ultra lite case. Would that sweeten the deal?

So, was the neck repaired at some point? The picture with the scarf joint and the obvious finish coloration difference has me scratching my head …

    Thanks

no, I asked Gard about it when I got it. That's how they made them back then.

    Here was his answer:
"Unfortunately, that bass is from prior to when all of our records were kept on the computer here in the shop, so I can't confirm all of the specs. I have seen this bass, it used to belong to a TBer from Georgia that brought it in one day, and if my memory is correct, it has an ash back...but don't hold me to that, it's impossible to tell from the photos, unfortunately.

However, I can let you know that during the time period it was built (mid 90's), yes, the headstocks were glued on (scarf joint). This method is very stable, and will not give you any issues whatsoever, as a matter of fact, there is a school of thought that says the glue joint is STRONGER than the wood."

Yes. They are on the side but not the front. Newer Roscoe have an inlay on the 12th fret. This one does n't.

Just to reiterate re the scarf joint neck. I have a mid-90s LG with a scarf neck...never had one minute of trouble from it, so don't let that hold you back if you're thinking about this axe.
