PRICE REDUCTION $900 Shipped to CONUS. $950 shipped to CONUS.

Time to thin the herd....for sale is a Spector neck thru NS-CR5-FM built in Europe (Czech Republic) somewhere between 1994-1998.
Color is a very dark purple over flamed maple wings. It looks nearly black in color under low light but the color comes through in sunlight....go figure! Still really beautiful color.
This bass is in very good condition. A couple of small nicks in the finish and one major finish chip right around the strap peg on the bridge end of the body....its not at all noticeable because your strap covers it completely and the area has been filled in with black paint to hide the defect. I will post close-up pic of the defects on subsequent ad bumps.

Serial Number 1309 (s/n located inside electronics compartment). Original list price for this bass in the 199X's was $1995 according to the Spector website.
MONSTER TONE with the 18v preamp....the hottest output bass of all my 20+ active basses in my current arsenal.

    NS-5CR™ The five-string Czech NS-Bass™
    34" Scale
    European-made NS-5™ model:
    EMG® pickups with 18v Pre-amp
    FM= Flamed Maple wings
    Active EMG® Soapbar Pickups – 18v Preamp
    Neck-thru construction
    Dot neck inlays
    Schaller gold hardware
A special note about serial numbers and this model:
    • The first units did not have a serial number
    • Serial numbers were first placed inside the control cavity
    • Later units the serial numbers were put on the back of the headstock as is common with current Czech Republic models
Here are two pics....more to come with bumps or PM me and I will email you a bunch more.

And a few more. The white pick is pointing to the small nick on the back of the neck. The finish chip at the butt strap button is clearly shown in its pic. Bridge pic shows the excellent condition of it and its finish. ImageUploadedByTalkBass1395934095.214071.jpg ImageUploadedByTalkBass1395934113.531070.jpg ImageUploadedByTalkBass1395934133.641450.jpg

The finish is a gloss clear over what seems to be an opaque stain that gives it a really dark purple/plum hue in the bright light. I don't know what 'Spector color' this is....maybe one of you Spector experts can chime in. its hard to capture in a photo.. I took a pic in the sunlight and you can see through the transparent finish to the flame maple striations (with some nice spalting).
