For sale is a newish VM Precision 5. It has been upgraded with American Standard Precision Bass 5 pickups ($85 value). Pots were changed to full size smooth taper Bournes 250k and an orange drop capacitor with Switchcraft jack. Dunlop strap locks (I will include buttons). Also included with sale is the the original Squier pickup. Has just been strung with new DR Lo-Rider nickel played steel 45-125 strings and it sounds great. Absolutely on par with the US version in the tone dept. I will ship in a Fender soft gig bag. Truss rod functions and action is set medium-low, making it unbelievably playable. Very punchy, yet smooth tone. Sounds like a P-Bass should, with an added low B. There is the usual play wear, mostly on the pick guard but there is one buckle scratch on the rear. I tried to capture in the photo but body and neck still look very new aside from that. Beautiful candy apple red.

Price REDUCED: $250 firm shipped in the CONUS via PayPal.

Bump for a great deal here! I just bought a new one of these in sunburst and I think it plays and sounds great just the way it came. I can only imagine what this one sounds like with the upgraded pickups and pots. I'm tempted to buy it myself but I just don't need two of these! Bummer......:meh:

All of these that I have seen so far weigh between 9 pounds and 9 pounds 8 ounces. Mine is 9 pounds 5 ounces.

Pending sale fell through...still available. Whole lotta bass for not a lot of bread. The US pickups cut through wonderfully at rehearsal. They have a bit more low mid emphasis, while the Squier pickups are more high mid focused. The open tone of the US is warmer sounding with the Squier being fairly brighter when tone is full up. I actually like both, but there was only room for one!

These basses are KILLER, especially considering the price. I've tried two, both red, and each was a nice weight and sounded great. The US pickup is icing on the cake. Too bad (for me) this only ships CON US (I'm in Canada).

Someone buy this - if you want a P-Bass sound with a low B, you can't go wrong here.
