This is the predecessor to the L-1500. A single MFD humbucker in the "stingray sweetspot", a jazz-like 1.5" nut width neck, a thin body, and a semi-circular route on the back of the body around the neck plate.

This one is in very nice shape for it's age, the only flaws I can find are a couple of finish stress cracks near the neck pocket. Silver metallic finish, rosewood board. It came to me in a flimsy Fender gig bag but I will ship in a G&L semi-hard case (the shape & padding of a hard case but with a cloth shell instead of a hard plastic shell).

    $695 shipped CONUS, paypal OK

    trades:

    -G&L SB-2, L2K, or L1K -- 1.5" nut width, 9.5lbs or less
    - Lakland Hollowbody 30
    - Carvin BR-12 or NB-120 combo
    - maybe a Big Al, Sterling/SLO Stingray HS or HH although those may be too rich for what I can add on top of the Climax

Someone's going to love this. My Climax is my desert island bass, although I have to think the silver finish on this one would be better for signaling a rescue plane. Craig's a great guy to boot and really knows his G&Ls.

Active-passive and either series-parallel or series-single coil. I've seen them both ways but haven't opened it up or tapped the coils with a screwdriver to see which it is. It's only moving one wire to switch from single coil to parallel or vice versa.

I think I set it up series/parallel when I had it. Sweet bass, great tone.

Did you have this one Brad? I know you had a silver one but thought it might have been a different one.

I could include a molded case instead of the soft-side G&L case if that makes a difference to anyone :)

One of my old Rocket-music ordered L2Ks showed up for sale again and I'd probably make an offer if I could sell a bass :) -- still available
