If you don't mind answering a question, how is this different/better from the Sansamp Programmable BDDI?

not to speak for the Op but the mid control is a huge difference/advantage in my book.

  9. Good question; the RBI has a 3 band EQ including a mid cut/boost control whereas the PBDDI has a 2 band EQ.

I've never used a PBDDI, but the RBI has a myriad of input/output options. For instance, there are TWO XLR outs; one to carry the Sansamp signal and another to carry a dry "unaffected" signal straight from the bass. (Also has two 1/4" outs for the same reason.) For inputs, you have the 1/4" input on the front panel for plugging your bass directly into the RBI, or you can use the rear panel 1/4" input for connecting other rack equipment ahead of the RBI in your signal chain. Use of the front panel 1/4" input automatically defeats the rear panel 1/4" input, so you could leave other rack gear connected to the rear input while still having the freedom to bypass it and plug your bass directly into the front panel.

Of course, the PBDDI's inherent strength is its programmability -- you can save 3 different settings and recall them via the 3 footswitches.

Please feel free to chime in if anyone else can address this question about how the RBI differs from the PBDDI; thanks for your interest and your input.

  10. Thanks WillieB! If anyone can chime in, please do!
