I have only gigged this particular bass once. I acquired this bass in a warranty claim, they simply replaced my other one. While the situation with this Star Bass was being resolved, I bought a 5string WW Thumb and once I got the Star out of warranty, I continued playing the Thumb, so off this goes. I don't like to have more than 3 basses, and I've had my eye on a Fender Deluxe MIA 5string in natural.
This Warwick Star bass 4String is practically brand new, has the:
34" scale neck, 4 string, Wenge fingerboard, made in Korea. Semi-hollow maple body, Warwick MEC single coil pups, 3d bridge, adjustable nut, warwick bell brass (bronze) frets, passive VVTT controls. It is set up with roto rounds right now, and I have found they painlessly switch to the D'Addario Chromes, if that's the route you want to go. These basses sound fantastic, I am selling because I am now a 5string convert, and I prefer active basses.
    $1000 PayPal ships CONUS
P.S. Warwick doesn't make these in Korea currently and these are available as the RockBass Chinese version which use rosewood, nickel frets, and 32" scale.

Thank you, honestly I felt the same way about painted necks. I got used to the aesthetics. Unless you prefer completely unfinished necks (like EBMM Stingray or Warwick Thumb, etc.) the clear on the neck feels smooth and fast and the paint on the neck makes no difference to me.
The sound of this bass is very modern, atypical of semi-hollow body basses. The pickups and their location puts this bass somewhere between a jazz and precision, but has that aggressive Warwick edge. I would describe the tone as raw and powerful, you can dial in some bass with it, but the bridge pickup on this bass is where its at. If you like mids, this is a semi-hollow for you, not the typical thump thump of a semi-hollow neck pickup. It is possible to dial in some old school tone, but that's not where this bass shines IMO. I was able to cut through a 4piece with a Hammond and leslie with this thing, no problem. It is actually a quite versatile instrument, as with any passive bass, the pickup height is at the heart of the setup for tone.

I never had any issues, however my strap is the Levi's 3.5" wide leather. The body is so large, that the neck dive is negligible. When sitting down, the bass actually does the opposite of neck dive, body dive I guess.

You wouldn't happen to want to trade for a Taylor acoustic?
